The Copernicus Emergency Management Service Monitors Floods in Aude, France

On 15th October heavy rains caused devastating flash floods in the regions of Hérault and Aude in southwestern France.

The disaster caused eleven deaths, nine people were injured and over two thousand had to be evacuated, as reported by the European Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) (ECHO Daily Flash 16th October). Firefighters, lifeguard and the military civil defence units were mobilised to support the disaster relief efforts.
